Hot-Desking for Hybrid Workers

With the realisation that remote working can often bring about huge cost savings and an increase in productivity, many organisations are now introducing Hybrid working – a combination of home-working and hot-desking.

Hot-desking is the practice in an office of allocating desks to workers for the days when they are required or on a rotating system, rather than giving each worker their own desk.

As with everything, planning is key when introducing a change to your working practices and policies.

Not only will you have to consider the technical equipment and wiring access points required for hot-desking, but also adaptations that may need to be made to – and communicated about – the telephone system so that employees can be easily contacted and available.

With the correct planning and preparation, the adjustments for hot-desking can be made relatively straight forward and minimal configuration would be required. The increased use of VoIP, where your telephony also uses the internet and is not tied to a geographical location as remains the case for analogue and ISDN lines, means that the communications can also be adapted with comparative ease.

With appropriate help from your support companies, hot-desking can be of minimal disruption and help take your business forward.
